History

** We are looking to create a comprehensive history of the Devils from humble beginnings to now, so if you have information please get in contact and help us build this section of the site.

1992:

The Club was started in 1992 by a Japanese Embassy Employee. Touch Rugby was Played Regular On a dirt pitch at the back of the international school born from a quote that stated ‘what could go wrong with a bit of touch on a Saturday?’

The Club logo, designed by a French embassy employee, was selected as the clubs logo by a group of six regular players

1993:

The first contact game was played mid-1993 against the foreign language university and the second game was against the agricultural university (Nongda)… it was apparently a dreadful affair which the Devils lost

1996:

The club started to take shape with a formal structure and the first clubs committee being put in place. A printing error on the jersey in 1996 had the club as the Beijing Bunnies (TuZi) instead of the Devils (GuiZi)

2009:

The She Devils officially formed and had their first 7’s match.

2014:

The Devils after winning back to back Yellow Sea cups, (Northern Asian Champions) played Manila Nomads (Southern Asian Champions) in Manila, the Devils were victories 39-0 and unified throphies to be crowned Champions of Asia excluding Hong Kong & Japan.

2016:

The Devils have a club motto “Once a Devils, always a Devil!” so being in existence for 25 years with an extremely strong Alumni spanning the globe, we entered the first ever Devils Old Nicks side in the 2016 Bangkok 10’s tournament, with mixed results both on and off the field. As the Old Nicks started up unfortunately 2016 was the year the Den (synonymous the world over as the Devils HQ) closed down, Devils young and old flocked to the Den to enjoy a final Devils Shot, Beijing Breeze, 10 RMB Qingdao and of course LIIT.
